French artist Frédérique Vernillet specializes in ultra realistic figurative drawing with a style as luxuriant as her main source of inspiration, nature itself. Wild animals, colorful birds, foliage and peculiar faces are the motifs that her sharp and poetic brush weaves into her enchanting and quirky creations. She composes her drawings in one sitting on grainy drawing paper, using one of the very fine ink pens that she collects and organizes according to how used they are. Her line varies with the pen’s wear and tear… and she chooses the one that’s a match with her drawing. Her impressive list of projects and collaborations include the Printemps Haussman as well as Boucheron jewelry and Ikea.
