Séverine Assous

Séverine Assous is not one to stick to basics. Instead, she likes to sketch her fellow man in elastic bodies and to paint with a buoyant range of vibrant color blocks. Séverine combines unique handmade textures and geometric patterns to compose distinctively poetic and fun pictures of our modern world brimming with energy and liveliness. A graduate from the prestigious parisian Ecole Normale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, Séverine worked as an Art Director in advertising before moving on to a career in illustration. Today, you can find her illustrations and animations in the press (Les Échos, Télérama, revue XXI, Grazia, Elle), in several children’s books (including one about dinosaurs!) published by Albin Michel, Actes Sud junior, and hélium, and in packaging and branding for labels such as Apple, Heetch, La Redoute, and Maison & Objet.
